The Sullivan Center has been improving lives in the community for over 26 years and this year is no different. The Center wanted to help give the youth in the community more positive experiences so we chartered a Boy Scout Troop.
The Troop represents an eventful present and an exciting future while donning troop number 2010. Troop 2010 is already making history by being the first troop chartered in the Atlanta Area Council for the second 100 years of scouting. This historical moment has been celebrated by planing trees in Piedmont Park, at the Georgia Tech campus, and The Sullivan Center. The scouts are also learning how to safely make fires, engaging in community clean-ups, and being honored at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to recite The Pledge of Allegiance and to see the swearing in of a new federal judge.
The rich history of the Boy Scouts has a formula that has worked for over a century by allowing the young Scout Patrol leaders to take on the responsibility of their troop. Scout Patrol leaders help plan trips, set up schedules, run meetings, and delegate duties to assistants and other scouts.
